I joined CHANGE as a member back in 2009. I was new to the whole gym experience but quickly became addicted. I found the gym so friendly that in November of the same year I came to work on the reception team and I have stayed since!
Our job is to make sure we live up to our reputation of being Hove's friendliest gym and be on hand to point you in the right direction, any time you need.

I joined the Team here in December 2014. I'm not alone in saying I was new to gym life then and despite being terrified in the beginning, I figured if I was working here it was as good excuse as any to dive right in. I have never looked back.
I'm prone to disappearing every so often on an overseas adventure, but I'll always be back. In between time, I've got Zahra to give me the lowdown on what I'm missing back home.

I am the Sunday Guy. I have been at CHANGE now for 2 years and honestly, I don't think one single Sunday has ever felt like work, which perfectly suits my student lifestyle.
I genuinely enjoy showing potential new members around our club and making them feel like this could be somewhere that they would genuinely enjoy being a part of and getting to know.
Aside from my work on the reception, I am often on the gym floor chatting to members about their achievements, and if they are up for it, sharing their stories with our social media crew. So grab me and let's break the internet in Brighton.

I have been a member of CHANGE gym since 2015 and have always found it to be friendly, welcoming and a great place to come for my workouts. My favourite classes are Step, Boogie Bounce and Hour of Power. I absolutely love the the atmosphere and the amazing attitude towards fitness.
I'm really looking forward to working on the help desk and being part of the team to help all members achieve their fitness goals! When I'm not working you'll find me taking long walks on the beach, arranging flowers and out and about with my friends.

I have been involved with fitness in Hove for over 15 years now. Essentially, I am all about offering great quality fitness solutions at an accessible price, so that as many people can get involved as possible. Sounds a bit corporate I know. But it's true. I want as many people in our awesome city to experience amazing training and lifestyle choices, without a whopping price tag.
I have a history in martial arts, rugby and tennis and like to challenge myself and keep my waistline in check with regular endurance races, like the obstacle course events and half marathons. Outside of the office, if I'm not with the family or with my other love affair - motorbikes - you will see me around the gym keeping a handle on things, or else teaching our HIIT classes - a personal favourite. They tell me I take no prisoners!

I originally started out as a CHANGE member. I have now worked here for 6 years and I love it. This year we have seen lots of exciting changes and I think our new look is brilliant.
I love to spend as much time as possible chatting to members and responding to their feedback. I really enjoying trying different classes and mixing up my workout routine to keep me interested. I am already addicted to our eGym equipment and my personal challenge this year is to gain strength as I have always been classes and cardio biased. As part of my role I enjoy visiting other gyms in the local area, it's always good to know what the competition are up to, that way we can keep a few steps ahead!

I had been a member of Change for many years and have seen a lot of changes over that time, all for the good, making the club look more exciting and great to work out in. The latest eGym equipment is just amazing, giving you a really great work out with minimum brain effort... I love it.
Brandon, the club owner, never seems to let the grass grow under his feet which is maybe why we have fake grass in the gym now!!
I loved the club so much I decided to become a member of staff and really enjoy my job - you might not always see me in the club as I am beavering around in the background, but when you do see me I am always happy to help with any questions and feedback you have or even just to chat - I enjoy a good chat.

Based in Shoreham, I used to work in the West End as a Sound Engineer with a few well known celebrities; Mr Blobby, Basil Brush, The Nolan Sisters [all 4 of them], Sir Ian McKellan - but after blossoming to 15 stone I decided to run away from the City.
I ran away and finished four marathons, a few halfs, a couple of bike rides and lost 5 stone.
I then retrained as a personal trainer and today my poor partner gets roped into my charity races and rides. Even the cat has lost 2kg.
So now I'm working with people to help them lose weight, train for a specific event or just improve their personal fitness and well being. If you fancy a compadre to run along the seafront or over the downs, myself and my four-legged friend would be more than happy to join you. Or if that's not your cup of tea, we'll design you an indoor cycling session, a 1-2-1 in the weights area or a boxing session to release some steam. Whatever your likes or dislikes, if you want to get moving, then come and have a chat. I've been there, I know exactly what it's like. I even still have the old baggy pair of jeans as proof!

ActiveRun is a free weekly running group for beginners, sponsored by CHANGE. It is open to everyone in our local community and is all about getting people out there and realising that running is actually a pretty cool and accessible way of getting fit.
Qualified in personal training with certificates in suspension training, pad-work, high intensity training, fitness testing and exercise nutrition, I am also a UKA Leader in running fitness.
I am proud to have affiliated ActiveRun with Run England and really enjoy the challenge of helping new runners to discover the beauty of running, whether it be to simply get moving or to into trail running and competition.
Beyond the ActiveRun hub, I am available to tailor individual personal training programmes, including core and strength conditioning plans, to help you to realise your goals. I specialise in seated exercise for older adults too. So whether you fancy a run out or something more low impact, then please shout.

I have been a member of a gym for a year now and it has grown to be my passion. When I'm not training in the gym I keep fit by playing football and skateboarding. Coming from a school environment into the gym is a big change! I'm enjoying the challenge! Every day is different and I'm learning all the time.

I got hooked on Aerobics back in the day and found STEP in 1994 and haven't looked back. My claim to fame was appearing on Gladiators (Ninja Warriors to you Young uns!) and Body Heat in 1997. I have a background in Les Mills/Zumba but I love to Freestyle the most and create the right level of fitness with fun.
Hi I am Karen and have been with this team for 7 years now and love teaching Body Balance, HOP and Yoga. Catch me for the early morning Ride if you like indoor cycling to wake you up.
I became a yoga teacher as yoga has changed my life in so many positive ways. I teach Yin as it's very complementary to busy lives and busy minds. Over time it will give you more freedom of movement and a spring in your step!
My name is Fadila. I am a group exercise instructor, Pilates teacher, personal trainer and singer! Here at CHANGE I teach and am very passionate about Pilates and Body Balance. I love helping people feel the best and healthiest they can through movement, energy and music!

I love teaching. My favourite classes to teach are Ride, HOP and Combat. I love Ride as we get an incredible vibe in the studio. HOP... The sheer power that people exude by the end is intoxifying! Combat... It's so much FUN, we enter as normal folk... We leave as warriors!
I love all music with a phat bass, though my absolute favourites are Jungle, Drum and Bass, and of course banging old skool acid techno. However I love anything we can sing to.
I'm a Personal Trainer and Nutritionist and a qualified instructor of Body Pump, Body Combat, Body Balance and HOP.
I'm a firm believer that exercise along with great nutrition helps to keep us healthy, young and happy and prevents disease. Above all I believe exercise should be fun!

Hey! I'm not only part of the reception team but I also teach classes. I love being part of the CHANGE family, I have worked with the CHANGE since 2013, previous to this I myself was a member. Pop in and say hi, I look forward to meeting you and showing you around.
I teach the Hour of Power, Boogie Bounce and Easy Rider. My favourite class at the moment would have to be Bounce, I think the versatility of the workouts are just brilliant.
I enjoy making exercise fun! I love to fill my playlists with fun upbeat music, dating way back to 1980's to present
With an extensive background in Dance, Performance and Fitness, Joanna injects a unique style to all her classes. Be it Zumba, Body Combat, Body Balance, Step or Boogie Bounce, Joanna's infectious enthusiasm inspires and entertains her participants.

Fitness became my big love 5 years ago and it completely changed my life. From a party girl to a passionate fitness professional. I was trained by 'Pilates Matwork Teacher Training' with the amazingly knowledgeable Alison Swan, as well as inspiring teachers such as Rachel Rafiefar and Suzi Barton.
I always try to help people not only learn about Pilates, but also about their own bodies. This involves the Pilates method, as well as many other schools of thought such as The Franklin method, Alexander Technique and Eastern influences like Yoga, to be a more holistic experience.
Before becoming a Pilates teacher, I trained as a dancer and dance teacher; it was during this time through attending Pilates classes that I became aware of the benefits of Pilates and how it could support my dance training and day-to-day well being. Pilates made me feel better in body and spirit.
My approach to Pilates includes working towards finding increased awareness of alignment, stability and ease of movement.
I have always had a passion for fitness and work hard to make my classes friendly, exciting, fresh, enjoyable and full of energy. I particularly enjoy weight training.
When I first moved to Brighton in 2013, I had some gym experience but found it hard to maintain consistent routine. Pretty soon I was not only motivated but addicted! I got to work on gaining the qualifications to become an instructor.
The idea that the challenge of getting the results you want not only doesn't have to be boring but can be something you love and look forward to is what I want to pass on.
I'm fascinated by how wonderful and clever the human body is. I'm also moved by the realization of how detached from our bodies we have become over the years of more or less repetitive movements and "non-movements" and how many injuries and pains we often go through as a result.
I'm passionate about helping you find your way back to your body through Pilates, a clever exercise system that's great for all levels from post-rehab to enhancing performance. In my mixed level classes at CHANGE you will find a bit of each. I look forward to seeing you there.
Dance has been the joy of my life for 40 years! I like to make people smile as it is my fuel to carry on. You are NEVER too old to DANCE!
My favourite tunes are the ones that touch my soul just like Afro-Brazilian or Cuban music but I also love Christina Aguilera!

I am an approved Senior UK Alliance Teacher and have been teaching internationally and in the UK since 2004. I have experience in various styles (Ashtanga, Iyengar, Jivamukti, Dynamic, Flow, Vinyasa, Restorative etc.) and adjust Hatha Yoga to the person and group.
Yoga on the first level represents a connection between the heart which allows me to keep the passion the art of yoga alive. I am happy teaching for CHANGE since so many down to earth people come there to enjoy learning about yoga!

I work as part of the help desk team at the Blatchington Road Studio. I have been weight training for 4 years and am now a competitive powerlifter and bodybuilder!
I am passionate about healthy living, I love motivating and pushing people to achieve their goals and enjoy group exercise. I like to ensure people have fun while they are working out so they do not feel like it's a chore.
I teach Body, Pump , Body Attack, Ride.
I have been working in the fitness world now for 6 years; I started by mainly teaching Group Fitness classes.
I love the vibe and energy which comes from the studio, especially in Ride and Zumba. Recently I have been working closely using the principles of Pilates to help clients who suffer with health conditions like lower back pain to regain more mobility and suffer less pain.
My passion for exercise started at a young age through Dance, I worked as a Dancer for a few years, before my love for travel took over!
I started in the fitness industry In 2006 as a personal trainer. I soon developed a love for group fitness so I trained in body pump and spin.
I hope to continue to do so for many years to come as it's the best job I've ever done!
I love working with all types of people, with a variety of goals. Acknowledging that we are all very different, my classes will endeavour to focus on each individual practising safely and to your own personal limits.
